SOUND CARDS

There are two basic types of sound cards: 2 channel audio and multichannel audio. If a person only uses the computer for internet or business documents then a two channel audio card will be just fine. This supports a left and right channel from a stereo source. Multichannel cards support five to six speakers which is an excellent setup for watching DVD movies or playing games. In the picture above, a person will notice four different colored circles along with a black parallelogram port. The different colored circles are ports for audio out to your speakers, audio in from a microphone, and audio in from another source other than a microphone. The parallelogram port is for optional game controllers.
